Casting Director, Acting Teacher and Career Counselor for Actors. Starting her new company off with a big bang, Erica Palgon completed casting for the indie feature BLISSESTRASSE. The film, which was shot in Berlin, was directed by Paul Donovan and stars an amazing group of unknown actors. On the commercial end, Erica has cast several T-Mobile commercials, including one consisting of 30 roles for director Matt Aselton, several Wii ads, a campaign for Lovaza directed by Ian Gabriel, Lendingtree, . She also continues to cast for voiceovers, including a Virgin Mobile voice over in Spanish and English and the voice for a National Biore commercial. She also recently worked on the casting for Heineken and multiple character voices for Chevy Chase Bank. Erica’s passion and eye for discovering new talent stands out in many of the previous projects she has cast. The wildly, comedic feature film DUMPING LISA, produced and written by Rich Doherty and directed by Emmy award winning director John Oliver, focused on searches for creative comedic and improv talent. An intensive search for a range of kids to portray inner city youth in Brooklyn was among the many diverse roles required to fill for the film THE PROJECT. Directed by Ryan Piotrowicz and produced by Renart Films, THE PROJECT stars Michael Stahl David, Matt Servitto and rapper Juelz Santana. It premiered at 2008 Slamdance International Film Festival in the Narrative Competition and won the AUDIENCE AWARD for Best Narrative Film. Another feature Erica cast, GREAT WORLD OF SOUND, a comedy, directed by Craig Zobel, premiered at 2007 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Magnolia Films in September 2007. In 2006 she attended Tribeca Film Festival with the film JUST LIKE THE SON, which she cast for director Morgan J. Freeman. The cast includes Mark Webber, Rosie Perez, Brendan Sexton III, and a gifted young actor, Antonio Ortiz, who was discovered through an extensive casting search conducted by Erica. Erica also explored another side to filmmaking, working on real people casting for a documentary about Eugenics, WAR AGAINST THE WEAK, winner of BEST DOCUMENTARY at 2009 DELRAY BEACH FILM FESTIVAL and BEST FEATURE FILM at 2009 BEVERLY HILLS FILM FESTIVAL. That same year, the short film she cast, SIRI OKO FO made its debut at CANNES FILM FESTIVAL 2008. In addition, Erica Palgon attended Sundance Film Festival 2001 representing 5 films cast with Susan Shopmaker Casting. Cunningham, John Gaeta, Monte Hellman & Ken Russell. Erica has watched many directors over the years and has taken notes on different styles of directing. This combined with the many casting directors she has worked with (most notably Susan Shopmaker, Jerry Beaver, Liz Lewis and Judy Henderson) have allowed her to develop her own natural techniques in directing, inventive casting ideas and teaching methods. Actors find her energy contagious. Her lightness and sense of humor allows for all “parties” to have fun and be creative. In addition, the talent she cast in MSG Network’s “50 Greatest Days” campaign won a NY Emmy in 2009.
